Chris Murphy does not have common sense. Trump never called all immigrants animals, he referred to gangs like MS-13 & similar organizations as animals. He referred to criminal elements that come across under cover of a large group bad people.

The US is expanding its capabilities to assist allies in AFRICOM by providing ISR support that they don't have without a US presence. If you take your progressive approach, they won't have those capabilities which makes the region less safe and in turn makes us less safe.
You say don't be afraid to push self determination, which is exactly what Trump is doing pushing allies to spend more on their own defense, not just in Europe either. Also, letting combatant commanders make the decisions makes things work far better than politicians micromanaging
