Corrupt officers in the @PoliceNG will be weeded out before 2019. Regardless of who wins the election, the Nigeria Police will be independent and rid of Armed Robbers and Kidnappers smuggled into the system by political opportunists. They will all pay. #ReformPoliceNG
Patriotic officers in the system are suffering too. Government’s neglect and underfunding is doing a great deal of damage to operations and processes. The police have been left to work with nothing. This however doesn’t justify impunity and transfer of aggression to the public.
I’m sure many people do not know that we actually have a Police Academy. The very first set of Cadets of this institution have been in the system for 5years now without allowances. As at September 22 2018 they ought to have graduated but no Passing Out Parade date in sight.
The @nassnigeria passed a bill on Police Academy to try and course correct and ensure the institution churn out reformed cadets but I don’t know if that too will be declined by the President unless we put pressure. Like I said, this is a battle for the soul of Nigeria.
We will stand by every police officer and cadet in the system and ensure their rights are not trampled while striving to serve their country and those in the system to fend for themselves or serve other interests will be surgically purged from the system. This is beyond politics.
The next @PoliceNG recruitment will not be business as usual. We implore graduates with passion and hearts of service to enroll. This shouldn’t be driven by the urge to be gainfully employed or make money but the heart to serve and contribute your own quota to Nation Building.
We demand to know what happened to the finances of #PoliceAcademy @PoliceNG @NPFSpokesPerson A transparent probe into the decadence of this institution must be conducted effective immediately. Those cadets don’t deserve the torment they are currently going through. 😞
The @NGRPresident @MBuhari @SPNigeria @bukolasaraki @YakubDogara @NGRSenate @HouseNGR @abellodam @MinOfInteriorNG should look into this issue immediately. Reform is meaningless without addressing an impending doom. An intervention here is critical. #PoliceAcademyCrisis
The entire Regular Course Cadets from RC1 down to RC5 are well under 3000. This shouldn’t be rocket science. If help is needed Government should declare a state of emergency on the Institution and get help from the private sector. This is a crime scene! @UIRAF_NG
As promised, I discussed this matter #PoliceAcademy with the leadership and here is the summary of findings:

The PoliceAcademy was established without a law and the admin deemed it fit to correct the anomaly by sponsoring an ExecutiveBill which has been subject to review...
It took a while & several deliberations but a great deal of progress has been made. From the track of The Bill, it was first read on the 18th of October 2018. Nigeria Police Academy (Est.) Bill, 2018 (SB. 702) by Senator Ahmad Lawan. @NGRSenate
Further Enquiries will be made to know if this can be fast paced to the second reading and subsequently prepared for public hearing and contribution before the passage for Prwsidential assent. Without legislation Budget can not be approved via an Ad Hoc process as told.
A lot of structural issues bordering of procedures and standards would also need work from findings from the cadets as corroborated by the authorities. While I appeal for the allowances to be paid to make the lives of he cadet better, i pray that the process is facilitated.
I will update the concerned as I know more but surely this will be followed up keenly. All hope must not be lost. Hang in there.
