Clearly, I didn't "blame Gab." I merely expressed my view about the policy and legal issues involved. But this account decided to lie about me.

(5) I grew up in a country (NZ) that now has a population of around 5 million, only 7,000 of whom identify in the census as Jewish.
I was taught very little about Jewish history at school, church or at home. Lately I've been helping my now elderly parents understand stuff.

(6) NZ is not like America. I've only ever met about a dozen or so Jews here. Every time one of the few Jewish cemetery sections in the larger cities is vandalized, almost everybody shrugs, not knowing what all the fuss is about. I find it bizarre and tragic.
(7) I object to all terrorist acts carried out on the basis or race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation. When I notice someone downplaying or ignoring terrorism against Jews, that tells me a lot about that person.
(8) A few months ago when I heard charges that Jeremy Corbyn is antisemitic, I did what I always do: "my own research." There's hardly anyone I trust for fact checking so I just do it myself.

(9) The IHCA has a "working definition of antisemitism" and Corbyn was reluctant for the UK Labour party to sign on to all of its tenets.
My profession is policy analysis, so I studied the definition & a lot of other material at the website before forming my opinion on it.

(10) I really do not care what it is that others are trying to get me to believe, I think for myself. I weigh all sides of the argument, make up my mind, and stick with it. It wouldn't matter if I had 50 Twitter followers left. If I'm satisfied with my conclusion, I don't care.
(11) Long before the tragedy in Pittsburgh, I decided to always speak up about antisemitism, the Holocaust, and to speak up against those who want to maintain ancient enmity and justify murder and all the rest that goes with Jew-hatred. It's red line for me. Non negotiable.
(12) Gab failed to carry out basic controls that any website service provider must do under, in this case, US law. The owner/founder may have had the best of intentions, but he doesn't respect the legal restrictions on certain kinds of published content. Other website owners do.
(13) The market responded to Gab's tolerance of the small group of violent genuine antisemites that utilized the unregulated environment there. People voted with their feet by not using Gab in the numbers they otherwise would have. Markets are usually right.
(14) My opinions on all this go far deeper than a narrow debate over what a social media platform can and can't legally do.

(15) I can be a strong supporter of the GOP and Trump without agreeing with other supporters on various issues. The GOP is the most important force in the USA for defending American values & conservative values, laws & policies. Unity is everything.
