This weekend, if you're not Jewish, consider joining the #ShowUpForShabbat event as a gesture of solidarity with your Jewish neighbors. If you have kids, this is a great opportunity to talk about living in a multicultural society and teach about being a good guest.

Also, given that church services are usually Sunday mornings, if you haven't attended Jewish services before you might be assuming they're Saturday mornings. And there are Sat morning services, but for a lot of congregations the bigger services are Friday nights.
Jewish holidays start at sundown, so welcoming in Shabbat is a very important and beautiful ritual on Friday evenings.
