It’s been two years since Election Day 2016, and I want to share a few of the things I’ve seen since then that make me prouder & even more inspired to work for Hillary Rodham Clinton:
Starting on November 9th, 2016, I’ve seen @HillaryClinton get up everyday with the passion & determination to make the world a better place.
I’ve seen her go on a book tour around the country where young girls in pantsuits tell her that they want to run for President because of her.
I’ve seen her call senators, members of Congress, local & state officials to let them know she’s supporting them & is here to help - whether it’s regarding CHIP or what is needed on the ground to help people in Puerto Rico.
I’ve seen her continue to figure out ways to do more good for places like the @EAFNYC, a school that has always been close to her heart.
I’ve seen her call staffers when they’re sick or lost a loved one. I’ve also seen her call & celebrate staffers when they’ve welcomed a child, gotten married, or bought a new home.
I’ve seen her check in on campaign supporters who are dealing with a health issue, or stilling fighting for things like clean water in their community & try to find ways she or her staff can help them.
I’ve seen her talk to immigration lawyers & organizers on how she can help reunite families and have her supporters raise over 2 million dollars for the cause.
I’ve seen her receive honorary degrees at universities around the world where students tell her they decided to go to law school because of her. I’ve seen her unveil a statue of Eleanor Roosevelt at Oxford University & give a speech on human rights that was more timely then ever.
I’ve seen her walk through the Beyond Suffrage: A century of NY women in politics exhibit at @MuseumofCityNY where we stopped to marvel at how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go.
I’ve seen her receive standing ovations at broadway shows, concerts, & restaurants where people ask her where do we go from here. And I’ve seen her respond and tell people to vote in every election & that we have to keep going, no matter what.
I’ve seen her call candidates from all across the country who decided to run & offer her support. I’ve seen her travel around the country raising money for Democrats up & down the ballot. I’ve seen her call into campaigns just to let them know she’s rooting for them.
I’ve seen her mentor countless young people, me being one of them. And yes, I’ve also seen her take long walks.
My boss may not be President, but she’s never inspired me more. I wish the world would’ve gotten to see what an incredible President she would have been. Instead, we continue to see what an incredible person she is & all those she continues to inspire.
