Oil companies also poured in $millions to defeat climate-protecting measures in other states. reuters.com/article/us-col… Big Oil might hide behind consumer inertia but their dead weight in blocking political climate action is all too clear.

This should give a further boost to the divestment movement - more evidence that it is morally and environmentally unsustainable to maintain investments in fossil fuel companies. As Bill says, we must break the political power of Big Oil and coal.
