In a global system where everyone worries about their personal debts, jobs, family issues, dreams & aspirations coupled with the lack of basic amenities as it is in Nigeria, think about the level of sacrifice of those who add social services/care for others to their issues.
In a country where government have perpetually showed their negligence and unconscionable commitment to nepotism and power grab at all cost with the deliberate weakening of institutions just to perpetuate themselves in power. Free enterprise defenestrated with Govt as a monopoly.
Yet our people find means to squeeze out happiness and make a living under a draconian oppression of the derelict police and non-existent criminal justice system, while they wait to be next to be cut down. This is not comparable to life anywhere even in the jungle.
I guess this is one of the reasons Nigerians succeed anywhere else but their own country. Remove the self inflicted apocalyptic disasters we sentimentally stampede to power to ruin our development every 4years under morbid ethnic entitlement & probably things will change.
Like @DrJoeAbah I have lived outside Nigeria and Can confirm his Celestial Observation. I still have people stuck out there hoping daily to one day return home where Happiness comes naturally even without power, good roads and money in the pocket. There’s something in Nigeria.
We are indeed blessed. It is just that a handful believe that they were created to tame that Happiness and freedom. They have commandeered the resources thinking Money and Power brings happiness. But when they realized the truth they added oppression to their collection.
If they can’t be happy then no one deserves happiness and fulfillment. They starve the volunteers and patriots serving their nation and turned them into draconian monsters with the power to kill and do as pleased. While they play dead to the plight of the people.
They are assured that with everyone minding their own worries, with a huge population ignorant politically, with divisive narrative bordering on ethnicity and religion cum political affiliation, where people curse others in support of their oppressors, no one would revolt.
But they are dead wrong. It ends now.
