At Lagos International Airport and there is currently no power...and by the look of it NO GEN.
Incredible scenes at the commercial capital of Nigeria’s international airport. NO ELECTRICITY. NO GENERATOR. NO EXPLANATION.

Passengers are waiting to get through immigration.
An immigration officer is complaining about what this looks like to ‘foreigners.’ 🙄

It’s better this way abeg.

Let them experience the shambolic nonsense straight out of the gate.
It’s hot here ooooo.

And I’m wondering how long we’ll be held here as no one is saying anything... to the Nigerians anyway. 🙄
People are getting pissed because one passenger asked an official to let us know what is happening and another official responded ‘na we get airport?’🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
An official jacked me why I’m disgracing my county (by taking pics etc)

Passengers going MAD because officials started allowing foreigners to go to the other side or the airport, where there is electricity.

One woman was yelling "would they do this for us if we were in their country?"
We are now on the other side,of the airport, where there’s power.

Looks like whatever fault is on the one wing.

People in line keep saying “sell the country” and some dude said “who wan buy am?”

Ladies and gents, I am finished.
Someone asked him so what do we do [about Nigeria] then?

The @MTNGroup's announcement is a positive for #Nigeria's economy as it substantiates previous comments by MTN that it has no plans to exit Nigeria despite its spat with @cenbank over alleged illegal fund repatriation.

So we just did this and my argument for an Igbo running mate for Atiku hinges on three things: Strategy, Reward to Achieve Higher Performance and Nationalism.

Let me start from the last: PDP cannot successfully claim to be a Nationalist party if SE doesn’t get VP - simple.
On strategy - we had 3 main thrusts from 2015 when PDP lost: a) Expose APC for failure b) Choose a Fulani Candidate to challenge Buhari in his base and c) Choose an Igbo running mate to turn out higher numbers than 2015 from the SE, like it did in 2011.

We’ve done a,b; now do c.
After Kano results came in and PDP lost woefully, I looked at 2011 figures and still felt confident that PDP would win.

If the SE had given us same figures in 2015 as it had in 2011, GEJ would have won in 2015.

PDP will win SE - I agree.
But will PDP win SE massively? Not sure.

#Nigeria the Budget Office put out 2017 fiscal accounts which showed that FY deficit came in at NGN3.8tr (3.3% of nom GDP) and above the 3% fiscal responsibility act. As usual revenues missed thanks to usual over-optimistic non-oil rev assumptions and higher JV payments
But interestingly, capex spending came in a record NGN1.44tr (1.3% of GDP and around 66% of target) with overall budget execution at 87% suggesting some credibility in implementation despite the costs driven by higher drawdowns by Works, Power and Housing
Debt service/revenues printed at 69% (adjusted for sinking fund payments to retire debt 60%) but up from the 47% in 2016. Overall debt tracked higher due to increasingly more expensive borrowings over the last three years - a derivative of CBN tightening.
