This Gulen maneuvering is as dirty as it gets. A US president is seeking to help a brutal authoritarian enemy of democracy get his hands on an opponent he would likely kill or imprison for life. But it gets worse.
The US president has serious personal conflicts of interests with the country in question and one of his top aides who had to resign and later pleaded guilty to a felony (Flynn) also had ties to the country. But wait, that's not the worst of it.
The reality is that the current impetus to explore whether Trump can help Erdogan get his hands on his enemy is likely part of a deal to get Erdogan to ease up on the Saudis re: the Khashoggi murder.
In other words--human rights and legal issues aside, conflicts of interest ignored--it could well be part of a plan by our president to swap one life in exchange for the cover up of the brutal taking of another. This is global crime family diplomacy.
