Well, DEMs, the GOP have played us again & we keep falling for it. Recently, we got a good look at just how GOP have been winning elections for years - they cheat.

They throw likely DEM voters (minorities, young people, those in DEM counties) off voter rolls. They pass laws making it impossible for some groups to vote (i.e. Native Americans in ND) & other laws making it damn difficult for voters to vote.
They've gerrymandered the fuck out of every GOP state. They delay voter registrations. They run their own damn elections, playing referee & contestant at same time. They close polling places in DEM areas, making voters stand in 3-4 hour lines to do what others can do in minutes.
They "accidentally" send out misleading information to certain groups, like putting the correct voting day on pamphlets mailed to English-speaking citizens & ("oops...we did it AGAIN!") the incorrect date on Spanish-speaking ones.
They use old machines with vote-switching "glitches" (TX) & wipe servers after elections so no one can check (GA). That's just what they do on their OWN. What they do with Russia we don't even fully understand yet, though it's clear they're using some of the same tricks.
And DEMs are so worried about calling into question legitimacy of elections (really?) that they urge us not to cry "fraud" even though we can see obvious fraud. GOP planned that one, too. You know why they were accusing us - on basis of NO EVIDENCE AT ALL - of voter fraud in FL?
GOP accused DEMs of fraud in FL so we would do what we always do - defend the integrity of elections & put pundits up saying how dangerous that was - to call into question our elections. They did that so we would clamp out mouths shut about the REAL fraud - theirs!
It worked in 2016, so why not do it again? In 2016, Trump railed continually about elections being rigged. Turns out he was right - he, GOP & Putin rigged them. But we didn't call them out because we spent the entire time swearing they weren't rigged.
Now we're being told by DEM leaders to quiet down & don't make a scene about what GOP did in FL, GA, ND, KS, TX & probably everywhere else. We don't want Americans to distrust elections, after all. We have to have faith in our system to preserve democracy, they say.
That's bullshit. We can't & shouldn't have faith in a system where GOP win with a minority of votes because they rigged it that way. Elections SHOULD be distrusted. We can't fix a problem by pretending it doesn't exist. Democracy needs honesty, even when it's harsh & scary.
I mean you'd think we'd learn, that we wouldn't keep falling for the same damn tricks. When GOP accused us of fraud on basis of nothing in FL, why weren't our leaders also crying "fraud" - GOP fraud - because there was PLENTY OF EVIDENCE OF THAT.
Trump & GOP use projection to keep us quiet. They project their crimes onto us so we'll remain quiet about their crimes - "Accuse the enemy of that which you are guilty." That's their main tactic. Instead of throwing their guilt back at them, we try to pretend no one's guilty.
DEMs, we need to wake up! Stop falling for their tactics. GOP are using Putin-level psychological warfare to control DEM leaders' responses to their malfeasance and IT IS WORKING. Why are we so educated, but so damn dumb?
