So we have a new house majority.

Besides the obvious, what shall we DO with it? Nothing can happen until they start the session right?

Wrong.

I propose we push for a longer legislative calender.

When the repubs took the House in 2010, the calendar started shrinking immediately, as did the output of non-symbolic laws being passed.

Given the problems we have in this nation, I find that unacceptable. Notice below, in 2013 they didn't even pass 75 bills.

Remember also, being a member of the US House representative comes with LIFETIME benefits, a huge yearly allotment and MANY perks.

Here's just three calendars, with about 138 working days each. Now I get they work long days, but would you keep your job with this kind of schedule?

Also it pays to remember that your rep spends about 1/3 of their time of the session "dialing for dollars" fundraising.
