/ I really don’t buy the “boardless” startup movement, sorry.
/ if you think boards suck, design your board differently!
/ but I know that for myself, forcing some kind of regular checkpoint to hold myself accountable to others on objectives, get a different perspective and have a “safe” environment where I can discuss important strategic or team issues is hugely valuable.
/ I understand where boardless startups come from - just see my tweetstorm on “shit VCs do”. I think they are ALSO very convenient to some hands-off seed investors 😘
/ However a dedicated group of accountable board members supporting an executive team that feels empowered will IMHO outperform most of the time an executive team that’s lacking that forum.
/ and also if startups stop having boards then what’s my reason for being around and should I grow tomatoes instead and invest in blind pool ICOs and WTF is the world coming to with all these young punks thinking they don’t need boards, jeez 😜/eot
