There’s a HUGE difference between you and I

One of us got unstuck

And it ain’t you...
I decided to make a (small) investment and fix my Twitter

I received the following comment from @LamedaLiam and I agreed

I was thinking, wtf why do other guys tweet bullshit and have thousand of followers?

I get quite a bit of love for the quality I put out

And until recently, I was hanging around 200-400 followers

So, I decided to fix that

I called the doc...
Dr. @WesternMastery to be exact

Joe has a twitter guide which he includes a DM consult with

The consult alone is worth 5x the price of the guide

Do you want to know what the doc told me?

Here’s what I’m focusing on...
First and foremost, Joe has publicly voiced his opinion of my tweets

He also agreed I was an underfollowed account

So what’s the deal?

Lack of tweets

Not enough...

I’ve preached 20-30 tweets/day

Joe has 1,000+ already and the month isn’t over

He called this a SLOW month too

2. Storytelling

I’m a nerd and I spout off information EXTREMELY easily

I synthesize and regurgitate quickly

What I lack is relatable, fun, stories

Funny thing about that is...
My emails are totally opposite of my tweets

I tell stories every day

Most of you know I always talk about this

But I never do it outside of email

Most of you don’t know shit about me...
For example (from our DMs):

Joe: how long have you written copy?

Me: about 10 years

Joe: I thought you were a beginner putting out quality content as he went along

My thoughts: Well.. shit

How to fix...
3. Talk up my wins and my experience

This will increase the perceived value of following me

Do you talk up your wins? I rarely see people doing this

Lastly...
Well, I can’t tell you EVERYTHING @WesternMastery helped me with

I am a copywriter so I have to sell you on something...
First, reach out to Joe, buy the guide, get your DM consult and don’t be a bitch... learn to take criticism

The last thing I wanted was “looks good man just tweet more!”

Screw that fluff bullshit

Storyselling

Read on to discover how I reverse engineered storytelling to create "storyselling"
I often tell you that copywriting is construction, not creativity

But, is there an exception?

If there is, it's the art of storyselling

Storyselling is the format I write my emails in:

*I tell a story
*I relate it to a lesson
*And that lesson relates to my product

Get it?
So, how do you write stories that sell?

The key principle to remember is this: The story helps create a VIVID picture in your reader's mind

In 2018 I had some rough patches where I would venture off of the path I had chosen

I went down a few different rabbit holes:

*SEO
*Facebooks ads
*Blogging

And, although these are good things to learn, I'm a copywriter
I'm the guy who sits down at his kitchen table, writes words on a google doc, and then receives a payment for doing that

I don't DO any of those 3 things I mentioned above

My highest ROI activity was neglected numerous times in 2018

First, my stream art. My art usually starts somehow based on a @streamlabs theme, even if only for inspiration or to make my custom CSS/JS a lot easier to wrangle. The text is usually done w/ custom browser sources. For more info on Streamlabs OBS visit streamlabs.com/slobs/d/103698…
For custom fonts, I override whatever font selection is made via custom CSS. I embed my fonts as base 64 in the CSS thanks to @FontSquirrel's webfont generator. Base 64 seems to perform the best for locally-hosted HTML files with inline CSS even. Probably because no caching.

Joshua was very much a rainbow baby 🌈 and we were so excited and over the moon when I finally made it into the second trimester. (Alex and I are both big rugby fans!)
I was working as a 1st year Registrar in A&E when I suddenly broke my waters at 24 weeks. I was transferred to Southampton @UHSFT who have a specialist level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. They were wonderful, and did everything they could to stop my labour over Father’s Day.

One of the most painful fears that comes for me out of the ongoing crisis at Willow Creek is the fear that other churches will respond in ways that punish women leaders.
People will say, "See this is why we need the Billy Graham rule" and women will continue to be the ones pushed to the margins of church leadership.
In fear we will act in extreme black & white ways instead of seeking the Spirit & reacting in proactive nuanced ways. Extreme actions rarely serve us well & almost always hurt the marginalized the most.
