Dem don come again 😬😕🙅
Around July dis year, a friend of ours, bought a Freetel ice2 phone from the then Yudala, now @ShopKonga, two wks later it fell into a water puddle on her way back from work....
....well it was rainy season then, you can't blame her 😀,
The phone refused to come up again even after she had dried it.
She took it back and requested for a repair as it still had the warranty cover. Well, she found out that warranty does not cover water damage...Oops
After checking it, they said the panel is dead, that she has to get a new panel, but they do not have the panel.
She decided to take it to Ikeja Computer Village, after a whole day's search, she realized that Freetel ice2 phones don't have any of their parts available.
Apparently, it doesn't have a secondhand value. She was at a loss, this is supposed to be a new phone,..... a phone engineer offered to rework the panel at #19.5k.....
..... Wow that's like three-quarter of the price I bought the phone now, so she objected.
Why would she repair a phone for almost the price of a new equivalent?? 😠
Angrily, she pawned it away for 1k...
Ever since then, she always checked out the after-sales services of brands and the second hand value (that is, if there are available parts for repairs...
..... incase it spoils) of products before buying.
Once bitten, twice shy.... She had developed the mentality of a smart consumer.
We hope that this @MTNNG Jio phone will not end up like the Google freetel phone collabo that ended up with freetel pulling...
.....out of Nigeria.
If not this their Jio phone will just be good enough when new, once it develops any problem, then forget it......... Zero secondhand (repair) value.
End.
