Me : It's a private member funded research organisation, part of @DXCTechnology working for @DanHushon ... I write research for them (in which I use mapping), teach members how to map (in workshops), they sponsor Map Camp London and allow me time for speaking.

... I don't do consultancy but I will advise members and friends. How much I'm willing to get more hands on depends upon the organisation, what they're trying to do and their involvement in the community. It's not something I offer because I want people to learn.

Me : No. My sum total in speaking fees for a decade is $0. I'm a salaried researcher. But LEF will often charge as it takes me away from core work. How much, well it's a negotiation. The only thing I need is flights, hotels and expenses covered.

... so, for example, a public community event which helps benefit mapping is something we will often support. But, a big private corporate event for a non member ... well, it only seems reasonable for us to charge.
