Government facing significant defeat on amendment to Meaningful Vote taken in Business of House motion tonight - as 15 Tory MPs sign up to Dominic Grieve amendment seeking to strike out the Withdrawal Act provision on making the Governments response to losing MV unamendable
This is Dominic Grieve seeking to turn around the dea/promises made by David Davis and Government to get Withdrawal Bill through. Makes Government response to losing Meaningful Vote amendable - ie can stop No Deal.

Government has declared “situation of extreme urgency exists in context of UK-EU roll-on-roll-off ferry capacity by virtue of the UK leaving the EU on 29.3.2019 and the prospect that this exit may be on a no-deal basis” in the documents re its purchase of £108m of ferry services
“Extreme urgency brought about by events unforeseeable for the contracting authority and in accordance with the strict conditions stated in the Directive” - says Department of Transport about events exactly foreseen by industry - this tho about not complying with eu directive
Two things - Government has declared that No Deal Brexit is an unforseeable “extreme urgency” perhaps because it is one, but also if a Government does not publish contract in the Official Journal of EU, that is one of the only reasons under UK & EU law’s Public Services Directive

We spent the early hours of this morning at the Bethlehem checkpoint. Thousands of Palestinian workers have to use this military checkpoint in order to get to work in Israel. It made my stomach turn.
One man who travels every morning from Hebron (45 mins, then 2 hour wait) to cross tells us it “look around us- the occupation, and in this crowd people are fighing- its cause of all this pressure- im 44 and i feel old”
Another tells us “we are here like sardines, its hard to breathe, all stuck on top of each other” another said “if israel opened more lanes it wouldnt be this bad” Two elderly ladies were crammed among the men- they were headed to a hospital in israel but didn’t want to talk.

The disappearance of Amy Bradley: a thread
Amy Lee Bradley was a 23 year old woman from Virginia. She was an great swimmer but was still hesistant to accept her parents offer to join them on a luxury cruise on the Rhapsody of The Seas cruiseline. Any accepted the offer and set sail with her two parents and younger brother
The cruise ship was sailing near Aruba and the Caribbean Islands. Amy and her brother, Brad were active in the ship's competitions and even won the limbo contest together. They became very friendly with the staff including the ship's band members.

I have witnessed a case where a woman pushed to early during labour and ended up looking her womb.

Here's what happened...

Mrs OB was a primigravida (first pregnancy first delivery). She went into labour in the early hours of the morning and was brought to the hospital by husband.

After about 3 hours on the ward she was transferred to the labour room.

The contractions and pain were building up.
But they hadn't built up enough. Examination her cervix showed she was only 4cm dilated.

So nurses said madam, lie on your side and play with ya phone. Or take a stroll if you can...

House officer was also stationed next to her to be monitoring contractions - as per human CTG
