Regressions from my generation of Accord (the previous one) to the current generation. (Thread.)

The dash angles toward the driver much more at knee-level (red line), making the footwell feel more cramped than if it were straighter (blue line) line in my gen. Footwell intrusion with angle highlighted
Continuing a years-long trend, the glove box is even more like a hatch on the bottom of the dash than a door in the front of it, making it flop onto your legs instead of opening up in front of you.
The center tunnel is even higher than before (and gets higher towards the front of the car), making both front seats feel more crowded. Center tunnel height illustrated with an arrow.
The side-mirror glass is smaller (but the housing remains large) and does not include a more “fisheye” portion at the outer edge. Driver's side mirror
This one’s been in he same since the 90s “de-contenting” calamity, sadly: intruding gooseneck! Trunk lid goose neck
(Even high-end brands like BMW have these now! But they build a tunnel around them so the goose neck doesn’t technically “intrude” into the trunk space—the tunnel it slides into does! Struts, please!)
Now, some improvements over the previous generation.

The steering-wheel controls are more numerous and better arranged. Much easier to know what you’re hitting, and the buttons feel great. Steering wheel controls
Really good mix of dials, buttons, and touch-screen controls. The dials all feel great. (Not sure how the high screen does in bright sun, though.) Center console
Finally, some Competitive Peeling™ fodder for @cabel. (I left it intact!) Clear plastic film over the shift indicator
(And, no, I am not getting a new car. I’m just at the dealer waiting for mine to be serviced and killing time.)
For those asking what the alternative is: struts! Here’s the 1992 Civic, then Honda’s cheapest model, before de-contenting. I had a DX—the cheapest trim level, where power windows, locks, and the passenger-side mirror(!) were all optional—and its trunk was like this.
One more: less headroom in the rear seat due to the sloping roofline. (No picture, sorry.)
Here’s my generation, for comparison. Previous-generation Accord interior.
