This is a remarkable piece of well crafted Propaganda 👇🏼 “They are using snake to interrogate” ? 👀 I will break it down in following thread:
1) Aydin Anwar, the Uyghur American Activist in video wears hijab. There are very few Uyghur American women who wear hijab. This is a nice touch to highlight Muslim nature of Uyghurs and appeal to broader Muslim community. This is working as Arab Americans I follow tweeted video
2) “They are being sterilized, a method used in Genocide” Even China Human Rights Defender whose widely sited estimate of 1 million in detention based on 8 informants and HRW report didn’t mention this. But it makes a good story nchrd.org/2018/08/china-…
3) “Thousands of Uyghur women are forced to marry Han Chinese men” Even widely sited HRW report which should be taken with a grain of salt only mention of monetary incentives for intermarriages btw Han and Kazakhs. But sensational claim is good for TV. hrw.org/report/2018/09… 
4) “Most towns and villages of East Turkestan are almost empty, 70-80% of civilians are all gone” Out 11 million Uyghur population, that come out to 7.7 million people gone according to her low end estimate! 7.7 million!
5) “You have change your name from Muhammad or Fatima to Han ethnic names” Many Uyghur men are named Memet or transcribed into Chinese as Meimeiti which is Uyghur form for Muhammad. Xinjiang is not running out of Memet. Nobody changes name into ethnic Han names
6) She look quite unperturbed talking about the alleged death of her relative in camp at 1:25 mark. Maybe she master her emotions well, idk
7）This #Uyghur woman is one of the most famous actress in China with 57 million followers on Weibo. Her name is Dilraba Dilmurat. Nope, that’s not an ethnic Han name.
8) involuntary detentions at “Vocational Training Centers” r real, Mandatory Mandarin classes, singing of “red songs” r real. Reports of crowded conditions, sleep deprivations likely real too. But apparently those are not deemed enough 2 rouse the public. Torture by snake” needed
9)Death in Xinjiang Camps: CIA funded RFA reported 4 death in 2018, included in HRW report. HRW couldn’t verify. Aydin didn’t mention her dead relative’s name bc this person is the unnamed one on the list? hrw.org/report/2018/09…
10) Aydin Anwar also wrote an opinion piece for Turkish State Media TRTWorld last year where she forwarded a claim that Chinese prison officials are making #Uyghur inmates contracting AIDS. She didn’t mention details so I digged in further... trtworld.com/opinion/why-ar…
