Prime Minister @narendramodi will be laying the foundation stone of three Metro Rail lines in a few hours. Two around Mumbai and one at Pune. Follow this thread for details of those lines 1/n
The two lines around Mumbai are Metro Line 5 for Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan area and the Metro Line 9 for Dahisar east to Mira Bhayander, a Metro Line 7 extension. 2/n
Metro Line 5 is a 24-km long elevated rail corridor with 17 stations. It starts from Kapurbawadi (in Thane), traverses along Thane-Bhiwandi Road to Bhiwandi and then to Kalyan. 3/n
Being built at a cost of Rs. 8,416.51 crore, Metro Line 5 is expected to be completed by 2021. It is expected to carry around 2.29 lakh commuters daily with the entire system designed for six-coach trains. 4/n
The following 17 station locations have been finalised. Kalyan APMC, Kalyan Station, Sahajanand Chowk, Durgadi Fort, Kon Gaon, Gove Gaon MIDC, Rajnouli Village, Temghar, Gopal Nagar, Bhiwandi, Dhamankar Naka, Anjur Phata, Purna, Kalher, Kasheli, Balkumbh Naka, Kapurbawdi. 5/n
Here's a rough alignment of Metro Line 5 
Metro Line 9 Dahisar east to Mira Bhayander is an extension of Metro Line 7 (Dahisar east-Andheri east) that is presently under construction. It is an 10.3 km elevated rail corridor with eight stations at a cost of Rs 6,607 crore. 7/n
The Metro 9 elevated corridor will start from Dahisar east and traverse along Western Express Highway till Shivaji Chowk, taking a left turn through Deepak Hospital area towards Uttan crossing the @WesternRly 8/n
For Metro Line 9, of Rs 6,607 cr, cost of land acquisition, rehab & civil works will be borne by state govt & (Rs. 4,967.75 cr). Cost of rolling stock & systems of Rs.1,639.25 to be met from JICA loan assistance. Rest 10 pc cost through Central government assistance. 9/n

As far as Pune is concerned, the Metro Line 3 of @metrorailpune has been planned between Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar. The 23-km long stretch will connect busy information technology (IT) part with Shivajinagar where other two metro lines will also join. 11/n
The Line 3 of @metrorailpune will be jointly executed by Tata Realty Infra and Siemens at an estimated cost of the project is Rs 8,313 crore. 12/n
