I came across the word, "suzerainty" while reading and I remembered my man Patrick Obahiagbon from whom I first heard the word. Then I decided to entertain myself. Thanks to Buzz Nigeria there is a one stop shop where you can access him in all his glory

These words were uttered or written as a reaction to the decision of CAF to award the African Footballer of the Year to Ivorean Yaya Toure instead of Nigerian John Obi Mikel.
I am not sure what year he said these words but you can be sure it was before 2015. Count how many cracies he referred to 😂😂😂
This was a tribute (the first of many on this list) this time to the Great Madiba. Not too many words surprisingly. Wait for more.
The second tribute on our list. This one in honour of the former President of Ghana, John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills who died in July 2012 while still in office.

It is safe to say that the Distinguished Honourable Member (ss he then was) was not happy with Nigeria. And the last word is actually "sciamachy" and yes it does exist.
Once again kudos to Buzz Nigeria. I had a great laugh this afternoon. And I thought it would have been selfish not to share.

I am always reluctant to comment about a judgment until I have had the opportunity of reading the judgment in full for very obvious reasons. Today I am forced to make exceptions and discuss the judgment of the FHC which upheld the Executive Order No 6.
Warning Very Long Thread.
To be clear I am not going to comment on the rightness or wrongness of the judgment particularly for a judgement I have not read, this is not a case review and I am not counsel instructed in the case, if I was, my recourse would have been to a higher court.
I am forced to talk about the judgment because of the news which broke today that President Buhari has purportedly placed a travel ban on 50 unnamed Nigerians in giving effect to the Executive Order No 6 of 2018. And my views are restricted to what I read from different media.

With the shameful treatment meted out to the Owerri Mothers by @PoliceNG permit me to introduce the concept of "Holding Charge" to your collective consciousness. In the end you will agree with me that there's something inherently wrong with us. Maybe we are just wired like that.
While the citizens of other countries thrive in the areas of scientific innovations, cutting edge infrastructural developments etc, there is something [in the water we drink?] that ensures that we are breaking records in the area of circumventing laid down rules & procedure.
There are different courts in Nigeria from the Supreme Court to inferior courts like Customary Courts, Area Courts etc and these courts each have their jurisdiction clearly delineated either by the Constitution or the law establishing the court. All lawyers supposedly know this.

First things first, it is important to point out, again, that the news of both HSBC and UBS closing down what are essentially satellite offices in #Nigeria is really a non-issue.
HSBC for example, is cutting its branches in up to a quarter of the 67 countries it operates in last I checked, so again, that is not the issue.
What should terrify us is that in the last year, foreign direct investment into our country has plunged by a factor of 30%.

That is significant, and if #Nigeria were serious, there should be a cabinet level meeting, but no, meat-heads will be masturbating about "corruption".

2007: Maj Gen Joseph Ayango #Aondo (rtd) was #killed in the federal capital, #Abuja, 14 June 2007. He had been chairman of the political campaign group, #Yar'Adua Associates, was seized at the entrance to his house, driven 5km on the Kubwa expressway, then shot dead in his car.

#Nigeria the Budget Office put out 2017 fiscal accounts which showed that FY deficit came in at NGN3.8tr (3.3% of nom GDP) and above the 3% fiscal responsibility act. As usual revenues missed thanks to usual over-optimistic non-oil rev assumptions and higher JV payments
But interestingly, capex spending came in a record NGN1.44tr (1.3% of GDP and around 66% of target) with overall budget execution at 87% suggesting some credibility in implementation despite the costs driven by higher drawdowns by Works, Power and Housing
Debt service/revenues printed at 69% (adjusted for sinking fund payments to retire debt 60%) but up from the 47% in 2016. Overall debt tracked higher due to increasingly more expensive borrowings over the last three years - a derivative of CBN tightening.
