X : Should there be a #PeoplesVote?
Me : No. I took the view that the first was a false binary and should have been cancelled (prior to vote) - . I don't support a 2nd shambles. Parliament must show leadership. If it can't, then we need a general election.
X : So, you think the referendum should be cancelled?
Me : Not now. I thought it should have been cancelled (prior to the vote) but you can't cancel it after the vote is taken. Alas, there was no support for cancelling.
X : But what if we hold a general election and get another weak Government?
Me : Well, if that parliament still cannot decide what to do then quite frankly our choice will have been made for us.

Me : Hmmm, a bucketload of tech acquisitions around Kubernetes. Expect big juicy deals.
X : It's the future?
Me : No. Mostly cash rich past giants with no future being clueless.
X : No market for Kubernetes?
Me : Some very profitable niches. Savvy tech buyer will wait until hype dries up before swooping in for tasty acquisitions around 2021-2022. This year will mainly be the clueless with big chequebooks. Hoping some friends will make it big this year.
X : The market doesn't operate to make your friends rich.
Me : Are you sure? It has been doing a good job of it - Cloud, Big Data, Containers ... it's always the same.
X : So, where is the future?
Me : I thought you were interested in acquisitions? They are not the same.

I'm all for expressing desire and involvement in politics but I'm a tad unhappy that the #peoplesvote seems to attack Corbyn but rarely Tories, it seems to talk up an exodus from Labour and I'm not convinced it is representative of ordinary folk - beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/096411…

As I’ve said before, it’s understandable that people worry about the possibility of voting down the withdrawal agreement leading to an accidental no deal, but I have some serious issues with @AndrewDuffEU’s letter here. 1/
Firstly, I think it is true, as Andrew says, that EU27 are offering an unprecedented partnership for a 3rd country. However, this agreement is not the agreement on the future relationship. As yet, it’s not even the Political Declaration on that (though it will be soon). 2/
The future beyond the transition agreement is impossible to predict, particularly with a UK Govt. in power that, as we have seen, persists with unacheiveable and internally incoherent positions, particularly on the future rel., and that can not negotiate in good faith. 3/

Right let’s talk folks. About home. What’s in it anyway? Home is home right? Just like Brexit is Brexit, it can mean different things to different people. It’s just surprising how *many* people equate home with place. Home is not a house or town or country. 1/
Home is where you feel safe. It may be where your loved ones, your family, live but it doesn’t have to be. It may be temporary, where you’re staying, but it’s still home as it’s where you have decided to spend your life. Even if just for now. 2/
Home is where you can relax. Where you can love and sleep and eat in peace. Without fear or worry that any moment someone will come knocking at the door to take you away. 3/

- Remain lost in 2016
- May's deal has few advocates
- No deal has probably fewer
@FinancialTimes This doesn't mean there is a cyclical voting preferences like rock, paper, scissors, but we should find out for the result to have legitimacy (so it should go back to the people, not parliament)

Corbyn totally silent on a 700k march for a #PeoplesVote which his membership clearly want, and fought to get, as Labour policy

Whatever the reasons,he put *himself* in Geneva yesterday rather than in support of the membership

If you try to, you're gaslighting
Of course you are entitled to say a #PeoplesVote is stupid, anti democratic, etc - what you can't say is that you are in a majority in the Labour party with that view
And therefore by giving Corbyn a free pass on this, you're saying it's fine for him to ignore the members
You can also say it's complicated, a political tightrope, a long game.

But all you're really saying is the views of the members are only listened to when they align with Corbyn's secret plans.

Are you really saying you know what's best for the NHS MORE than the doctors of the NHS themselves?
If you don't support a People's Vote now, you'll only have yourself to blame when the NHS flatlines...
And I imagine the doctors will have some pretty strong feelings too...

Just had a conversation with a pro-Brexit Conservative MP.
They called it a private phone call, so I won't be naming them. This thread is just so you know how to talk to them. Here's a summary of how it went:
Femi: If you know Brexit hurts the country, then as an MP whose job it is to protect the country, don't you think you have a duty to at least provide the opportunity to stop it.
MP: There was a democratic vote. We have to respect the wishes of the British people.
Femi: So we triggered Article 50. We're conducting 2 years of negotiations. But the wishes of the British people were to be more sovereign and more prosperous. Brexit means the exact opposite.
