I’m wondering if there’s any proof of a startup that grew to Google or Apple’s scale by applying theories of aggregation.

Business theories are more descriptive than prescriptive, and that limits their use.
A startup is much more likely to get killed by a random cause than be successful by applying theories.

I’m guilty of theorising as well, but I try to caveat by being explicit about (the massive) role of chance in business success.
Moreover, I think taking the top 5 tech companies and dissecting their reasons for success is good for satisfying curiosity but isn’t helpful for startups.

Your startup will never be Google. There will never be another Google.
Successful profit strategies are unique, super specific to context they operate in, highly specific and once they emerge, they tend to dominate the context. Replicating profit strategy never happens.
