After his appearance on This Week, @OwenJones84 was subjected to a torrent of violent threats and homophobic abuse by the Jacob Rees-Mogg Supporters Group. [THREAD]
2/ Given that Owen has actually been physically assaulted today, threats like this are far from just idle talk:
3/ Graham wants to see him beaten up. Ian wants to hit him with a hammer.
4/ There’s no attempt to conceal the homophobic element of their abuse.
5/ Damian reckons that “Someone will get to him”. Viv wants to see him get run over.
6/ Just a reminder: this fascist dehumanisation and violence is coming from the supporters of @Jacob_Rees_Mogg, not some Neo-Nazi street gang. He could address this, but he hasn’t.

2/ Your followers frequently call for terror attacks against mosques, and they do it in a group devoted to supporting you, Jacob.

3/ In that same group, your followers were justifying the murder of Jo Cox. Isn’t this something you should speak up about, @Jacob_Rees_Mogg?

a) what Vote Leave did with £350m-for-NHS bus lie during EUref &
b) what Brexiters are doing now with Soros rage, Rees-Mogg stunts, attacks on civil service, confected stories about EU ‘bullying’ etc.

 Key similarity: Brexiters are once again setting the news agenda, driving the news cycle. Or, perhaps more accurately, they are engaging in a highly successful rearguard operation: disrupting & shifting the news focus away from where it would otherwise be.

 During EUref campaign, they talked about the cost of EU membership & linked it to NHS under-funding. We proved their figures were wrong & called out their lies. On facts/logic, we won the argument hands-down. But the debate was all about their issues. And look what happened.
