A big reason we're saddled with the ham-fisted, deeply prejudiced "toxic masculinity" campaign is that our degenerate culture is utterly incapable of discussing masculine VIRTUES or separating them from unacceptable and criminal behavior. Thus, "masculinity" is "toxic."

Politically correct culture can't even entertain the concept of virtues that might be primarily displayed by men or contribute to a positive model of masculinity. This does not CHANGE the truth that such virtues exist. It merely obscures the truth.

The result is a society infected by the kind of madness that flows from political demands to ignore reality. We know there is something wrong and untrue about the political illusion we're forced to live in, but we are strongly discouraged from discussing it.

This is a natural consequence of living in a culture shaped by those who believe political illusions can become reality if enough people believe in them - a ruling class largely insulated from the mundane consequences of denying reality.

In this case, they're trying to make us believe masculinity has inherent "toxic" problems but no inherent virtues. Everything that makes men different from the androgynous/feminist ideal of the ruling class is BAD. Nothing that implies men might be better at ANYTHING is allowed.

And the deepest irony is that despite the direct and outspoken attacks on masculinity, this is really all about women: the endless War on Wives waged by left-wing social engineers. The ultimate goal is to suppress everything that leads to independence from the collectivist State.

Look at it this way: everyone knows healthy population growth requires a certain birth rate, which is impossible to achieve without a large number of families having 2 kids and quite a few having more than 2.

Without enough children, you get population decline and social collapse, because you don't have enough workers to keep the economy chugging and generate the wealth needed to care for the elderly. Birth rates without stable families lead to crime, chaos, and poverty.

So if you want a socially healthy, growing population, there is simply no other way to achieve it than a large number of young men and women getting married fairly young, staying married, and having children.

But that also produces strong and prosperous families with reduced dependency on government - a DISASTER for collectivists. Everything I just described about healthy growing populations is anathema to them, the LAST thing they want.

How do you sabotage that model of healthy population growth and prevent the widespread flourishing of strong independent families that don't need maternal government and don't want to be lab rats for progressive social engineers?

The answer is pretty much everything the cultural Left inflicts on us, but the assault on masculinity is key. You need to eliminate everything that makes young women desire marriage with young men. You need to make young men nervous about pursuing women.

In other words, you create social forces that artificially extend adolescence for both men and women. You prevent them from understanding themselves so they never really understand each other. You idealize putting marriage and family off until middle age in every way possible.

And for all the energy feminists put into this crusade, for all the cant about women as a victim class that needs the protection of the Left, women and their children suffer long and deep in this absurd politicized culture.

If we can only talk about masculinity as a toxic problem, we cannot identify or nourish the masculine virtues. The proper term for a male who never learns and embraces those virtues is "boy." Women and actual children suffer from a world full of 30 and 40-year old boys. /end
