THREAD: So for even further transparency, I am hearing that there is confusion surrounding how Shaun King sent out legal threats to Black journalists and activists with several attorneys cc'ed.

This is exactly how my situation went down. I am now releasing all of the emails.
The initial email was sent on Monday, January 14th from Shaun King addressing a tweet I posted back in June 2018 that had been previously deleted. He cc'ed those four attorneys and my college email.
My initial email was a gut-reaction to try to rectify the situation, but also make those cc'ed that I knew exactly what was going on. Personally, I thought this was enough and I wanted to be done with it.
Following my post, one attorney in the thread, S. Lee Merritt, tried to reassure me that a lawsuit wasn't on the table and they just wanted the post to be removed and retracted.
I then reiterated that the post was old and had been deleted (the reason being is that trolls at the time had begun to harassment back in June 2018 once it was originally up).
S. Lee Merritt then doubled down on requesting that I make a "brief statement publicly retracting the claim" I made. Another attorney, India Sneed, appears to have cheered this on. I stopped responding for the remainder of the day.
Two days later, on Wednesday, January 17th, Shaun King returned to my inbox with a demand that I immediately make a public retraction, this time further threatening legal action.
I then made it clear in the following email how I planned to respond. This initiated the post I made on Twitter that same day.
Shaun King was clearly frustrated by my response and then referenced Mr. Benjamin Crump, the attorney who represented the late Tamir Rice, as someone to address.
At this point, I doubled down and made it aware that I knew he had a history of doing such intimidation to others. I also said that Mr. Crump could contact me.

He never did.

Shaun King immediately made posts about me on social media, and his thousands of fans harassed me.
So for those counting, only two out of the four attorneys made a response to me in this Shaun King thread. I have yet to hear anything from Mr. Crump or Ron Sullivan, the respected Black Harvard Law professor. I seriously question if they are really cosigning any of this at all.
