@DuncanWeldon @SamCoatesTimes PiS is most likely doing a favour to a UK government it hopes can help out over Article 7 and defence commitments. The timing is interesting. Allows May to rally support for her deal based on some kind of renegotiation with the EU in her speech this afternoon
@DuncanWeldon @SamCoatesTimes If the EU can bag the backstop in some way, punting the Brits into transition where they follow the rules and face another deadline is entirely in the EU's strategic interest
