THREAD! Called it! Less than year ago South Bend Mayor @PeteButtigieg vetoed South Bend common council resolution that rezoned property to allow nation's largest pregnancy resource center to open new facility. I wrote about it first @FDRLST thefederalist.com/2018/05/01/ind… 1/
2/ Several key points to keep in mind: South Bend was the birth place of the Women's Care Center, yet Buttigieg capitulated to lobbying from out-of-state abortion providers and activists who didn't want competition--they wanted money from dead babies. And Buttigieg sold out
3/ community, moms, dads, babies (born and unborn), and children--WCC provides resources for all!--to keep in good graces of abortion Left and Democrats. And in his veto statement he set up South Bend taxpayers by announcing his decision was based on WCC's viewpoint.
4/ I wrote on that aspect for @WSJ wsj.com/articles/a-may… @PeteButtigieg didn't care though because he saw D.C. as his future. He doesn't have a chance at President, but this is his audition for a federal gig, and his veto of a pro-life pregnancy resource center-in violation
5/ of 1st Amendment--was his resume enhancer. Not only does this expose @PeteButtigieg lack of character and desperation, it proves yet again that the Democratic party has no place in it for moderates! After all, the zoning decision wasn't about abortion, didn't limit abortion
6/ it was about offering women a real choice--a door where they can walk in, without judgment or pressure & obtain resources for moms AND families for YEARS and choose life, or a door where they'll take your cash and kill the human being in uterus.
7/7 The Democratic party isn't pro-"choice;" it's pro-abortion. And @PeteButtigieg isn't pro-"choice;" he's pro-abortion. And anyone applauding or promoting the pro-abortion mayor, isn't really serious about protecting life either! END
