Read this thread. SO many important points: While I would never hold hand and support an abortion, I would not stop loving after. Second, for all the rhetoric about "choice," many women are pressured to abortion--horribly pressured. One girl passed note to abortion worker 1/
2/ saying "I don't want an abortion" being forced by parents. Worker didn't know what to do so snuck out to pregnancy resource center. They knew what to do. Informed police and then helped girl and parents talk. Third, so many WANT to adopt babies with Down's--waiting lists.
3/ But fourth and most important is what society has taught about adoption. Notice how Jennifer speaks of "giving up her baby" and "judging" her for that. We need make our words meet the reality of adoption. Birth moms aren't "giving up" their babies. They are making plans for
4/4 their babies--to give them life and A life--recognizing that for whatever reason they as the birth moms cannot. And when we say "I could never do that," we need to realize what we are saying: Birth moms are braver and stronger than we are! END

2/ Several key points to keep in mind: South Bend was the birth place of the Women's Care Center, yet Buttigieg capitulated to lobbying from out-of-state abortion providers and activists who didn't want competition--they wanted money from dead babies. And Buttigieg sold out
3/ community, moms, dads, babies (born and unborn), and children--WCC provides resources for all!--to keep in good graces of abortion Left and Democrats. And in his veto statement he set up South Bend taxpayers by announcing his decision was based on WCC's viewpoint.

THREAD: In light of BuzzFeed hoax, I've been pondering how media should handle release of "bombshells" by other outlets. I don't think "not reporting" is a solution because it is news. But merely repeating charges w/ aside of "we haven't verified" is wrong. As is, discussing 1/
2/ at length the ramifications "if true," absent a balanced approach. It would seem (and I'm thinking out loud here & need to fully consider counter points, etc. so have at it), that the best approach would be to report as the story that an outlet has published X, then highlight
3/ reasons why skepticism is appropriate (unnamed sources, unseen documents, not sure if documents seen, history of misreporting, other evidence that makes the story unlikely, and whether other sources the reporting outlet has contact support/contradict). Obviously this isn't

NUMBER 1: Poroshenko wants to amend the constitution by removing a clause allowing the Russian Fleet to be stationed in Crimea. "After we retake Crimea, the Russian base will no longer be stationed in Sevastopol!" he exclaimed.

Last night I promised a thread about #abortion before Roe v Wade legalized it nationally. Until the mid-1800s, common law allowed abortion until "quickening", when fetal movement can be felt. Toxic abortion remedies & doctors competing w midwives led to… 1/
laws outlawing abortion except where pregnancy was likely to be fatal spreading across the country. Bottled abortion remedies could be and were fatal, and doctors, almost all white and male, didn't want midwives competing with them for pregnancy care. 2/
