To my dear friends working for truth & justice: we are not the “religious left.” That term is too puny. We are fighting for the moral center of our traditions.

The real conflict is b/w the theology of justice that & the hijacking of religious sentiment in service of injustice.
When religious segregationists chose racism as their religion, they were not being conservative Christians. They were being non-Christian.
Today when so-called white evangelicals attempt to use faith to support attacks on healthcare, living wages, the poor, immigrants, women & gay folk, they are not “on the right.”
They are being irreligious at best and down right heretical at worst.
We are laying out the moral center. And we are not doing it b/c of Trump. The media is just paying attention now, but many of us challenged Democrats on the same issues.
