Critical context for this discussion: Robert Bowers, the suspect in the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, was reportedly inspired in part by a conspiracy theory (peddled by right-wing media, pundits, & politicians) about Jews funding the migrant "caravan." 2/
This conspiracy theory has been around for a while. In April, Big League Politics (a right-wing website founded by former Breitbart employees) ran a piece falsely claiming that Soros-sponsored groups are funding the migrant "caravan." Fringe right-wing sites ran with it. 3/

1/ Ok, on the subject of local/state ballot measures, vote YES on state Prop 10, which would repeal Costa Hawkins act, and allow cities to experiment with their rent control laws.
2/ The general argument against all forms of rent control is that it messes with market forces, few units get built, ergo rents for those who don't have rent control rises. And we have seen the restriction on new units jack up prices throughout Bay Area. HOWEVER...
3/ Here in SF, we have rent control on units built before 1979 but not after. This a) means no set asides in massive new projects b) pushes the burden of rent control onto owners of 1-4 units, many 2 unit (in which they live in other), and lets big landlords off the hook.

Now: Trump touts trade deals and talks with world leaders at UN. Says his tariffs haven’t had any impact at all on the economy. He’s says he’s not happy about the Fed raising interest rates but it’s b/c “we’re doing much better than anybody ever thought possible.”
Trump: “It wouldn’t have mattered if FBI came back with clean record, Democrats wouldn’t vote for Kavanaugh. But the FBI really doesn’t do that (investigate). Democrats are con artists. These are false accusations.”
Trump: This is a big fat con job. I’d love to be in the room to see Schumer laughing with the Democrats. 36 years no charge. Then all of a sudden this. Then Avenatti another con artist adds more. Kavanaugh is a great man. He’ll be a great Justice. The way they’ve hurt his family.
