Dems who are reenacting the bitter shitshow that was 2016, pls let me help you: you need to activate non-voters. This, what you're doing, is not helping. Make it about the issues and people's needs. Worry about earnings votes, rather than squabbling over them like poker chips.
There are a lot of people out there whose right to vote is under threat. There are a lot of people out there who have never been politically active, who might show up to stop Donald Trump. Your work is to inform, support and mobilize voters. They don't care about your 2016 feels.
If someone's got a bad record, talk about it, but you are not bringing anyone new to the table by picking up where you left off with that 2016 shit. Both sides blame each other, but I think we can all agree the acrimony didn't play out well. Just a thought.
I will never understand how people who prize voting above all else -- a literal numbers game -- can prioritize the expression of their angst towards people who didn't vote, or who backed another candidate, when they ought to be working to activate people.
Establishment folks have been telling people since Trump was elected that they needed to put ideology aside and show up for the next Dem, but they meant the next *establishment* Dem. If y'all want a center that can hold, that has to cut both ways. This is basic coalition shit.
I honestly find it infuriating when ppl express that voting is the most important thing in one breath, and in the next insult the ppl they should be rallying & encouraging. If you put your angst ahead of stated your goal, voting is not the most important thing to you.
If we could prioritize addressing climate change and the global ascent of fascism, that would be great.
