*sigh* life expectancy had gone up for several decades. It dipped by .1 years over the last few years almost exclusively bc we have more freedom than at any time in history, which has led some people to make questionable health choices. That’s on them.

early deaths from things life heart disease are declining. It’s things like drug overdoses that are killing people. Giving people more freedom also means the possibility some of them will make bad choices. There is a balance, but I still prefer we tip the scale toward liberty.
And that doesn’t mean we can’t address some of these things (ex: opioid crisis), but it does mean that people should stop pretending things are terrible and taking for granted the liberty and prosperity that we have achieved.

5) He earned his money. YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO IT!
You go build a trillion dollar company that completely changes the way society operates, puts millions to work, and makes people's lives significantly better, then you can spend the profits on whatever cause you want.
I didn't even mention the tend of millions that Bezos personally pays or the billions in tax revenue created by his companies that fund all of government programs these people support and claim are critical to helping the most vulnerable in our society.

I watched the left spend years creating an alternate reality where America is awful, the rich are responsible for the suffering of the poor, and we need government to step in to fix it. Now the populist right is doing the same exact thing.
Meanwhile, I happen to turn on Maher's show and (after Ann Coulter endorses a 70% m tax rate) he has a panel full of leftists who declare that everyone who disagrees with them is racist and that all of our national institutions are broken/rigged.
This is what we have to choose from now? Two sides who play on envy and falsehoods to disparage what made America the greatest country in human history and insist we must immediately abandon it?

What option does that leave those of us who aren't swayed by those things?

Great point here regarding Omar’s support of the BDS movement: Omar supports sanctions on Israel allegedly due to the actions of the gov’t, but fiercely opposes them against a much worse regime in Venezuela.

If only there was a word for holding Jews to a different standard...
Also, worth repeating that Omar is spreading and parroting propaganda on behalf of one the worst regimes in the world after Democrats chose to put her on the powerful Foreign Affairs committee.
And this is all 2 days after she spread ridiculous and blatant lies about a bunch of high school kids and deleted without apologizing.

Yet Dem leadership hasn’t been asked about any of this. Mainstream media has almost ignored all of it. Must be nice to have a D by your name.
