We've reached a groundbreaking settlement with Devumi for selling fake followers, likes, and views on social media platforms like Twitter & YouTube.

This is the first settlement of its kind to find that selling fake social media engagement is illegal.

cnn.com/2019/01/30/tec…
The fake followers, likes, & views that Devumi sold came from bot & sock-puppet accounts.

Devumi also supplied fake accounts that copied real people's social media profiles, and sold endorsements from influencers without disclosing that the influencers had been paid.
Let this settlement be a clear message that anyone profiting off impersonation on social media and seeking to make a quick buck lying to honest Americans is breaking the law and will be held accountable.
