THREAD: Matt here. After I was exposed by @DailyCaller last summer, this was one of many similar threats I got to the lives of my family on the @BreitbartNews comment section powered by @disqus. It was left there by both entities for four days. This cannot and should not happen. 
If I, or my family, were to be hurt because of posts like this, and knock on wood it doesn’t happen, there would be no meaningful price to pay for the platforms, who would simply shrug it off, send a “we’ll do better” out and continue to allow it everyday.
We need stronger laws regarding online harassment. Social media companies need to be responsible for what takes place on their platforms. Of course, they will fight it tooth and nail, but meanwhile, the rest of us will continue to pay the price for their indifference.
I will take this to Washington if I need to and I hope everyone will come with me. This is not a political issue. It’s a safety issue. Shit needs to change. And fast.
