Would this news have even come out, if not for the growing divergence of the foreign policy aims of USA/UK and that of Saudi Arabia/UAE ? I doubt it.
So for any US ally securely within the US ambit, I expect the same thing is being done. Same for the ambit of China or Russia.

It is really a shame, because we could have built a secure internet. We could have extended the robustness onto the peripheral devices. We could have trained citizens for better practices in cyber health. We could have treated this as important as the health of people’s bodies.
Is it even possible to have a secure digital infrastructure when our economic and political systems are rotten? I don’t think so.
