Okay, so this entire article is Some Bullshit, a thread (yes, this is about Zhao’s BLOOD HEIR):
An alternate title for this thread is So You Wrote A Bad Book And Now You’re Whining About The Consequences
Look, nobody professional in YA or any other creative arts has time or energy to mount hate campaigns against other authors, just trust me on this

we have deadlines
Twitter popularity is weird. You get a three book deal, suddenly have a lot of followers because you’re a Bright New Voice and you start thinking you know how shit works even though your first book isn’t out until June.

Sweetie, you don’t.
Your book can’t possibly be bad, though! These bloggers and nasty other authors (who are mainly black women, no, this isn’t misogynoir on your part at all) are WRONG & JEALOUS

After all, your publisher paid the big bucks for your MS and your editor never mentioned these issues!
(Psst, publishing is really hella white so maybe the reason your editor didn’t see these issues ahead of time is they’re very rushed and also not a person of colour)

(Publishing needs more black editors)
I’m so tired. Hello, young authors, here’s your ONLY two options when people raise questions or post negative reviews of your book:
1. Make yourself a big glass of Shut The Hell Up and drink it quietly.

2. Respectfully answer people with a “I didn’t think / intend that, but you’re right, I’ll fix it, thank you”

No, that’s it. Never complain, never explain.
Also that cover was ugly as shit.

Bye.
