My wish this morning is that everyone would grow eyes and ears for how often the unchallenged argument for not enacting a clear moral imperative is simply "that would be hard."

This was the crux of my frustration with Brown's statement earlier. It's not to say the details of a "Medicare for all" proposal are above criticism; it's that the announcement merely signifies a predetermination to abandon the goals of such a proposal.
Most things that are morally correct are hard to do.

Most of our most pressing problems represent challenges.

Most solutions to grave structural wrongs are impractical.

And so what?

Are we determined to be innovative and good, or not?

Challenge that defeatist shit, always.
Do we tell inspiring stories about people who saw a clear problem that needed a bold solution and instead did an easy practical thing that made the problem less visible but no less pressing?

No.
