For as long as the Steele Dossier is, it contains actually relatively few specific allegations.

In this thread I'll look at the big ones and evaluate whether they've been proven or disproven or neither.

This thread is dedicated to @pescami
Dossier proponents like to say much has been proven true, but when pressed, they only point to the general premises that Russia interfered and hacked the DNC, allegations which was all public when Steele wrote it.
The memo claiming Russia was behind the DNC hack is undated, but clearly comes after it was reported and Robby Mook first put forward the theory that is now the basis of Russiagate.
So, Let's dive in to David Kramer's highlighted copy as photographed by a Buzzfeed reporter when Kramer left the room with a wink and a nod.

First, Russia had been grooming Trump since 2011? Knowing he'd one day be President?! Laughable.
Trump had been offered various Real Estate deals as "sweeteners" but declined?! Wait, I thought Trump was DESPERATE to get a tower in Moscow?

Our first debunked claim, given the first was only rated *laughable*
The Kremlin had been feeding the Trump Campaign Intel for several years. Folks, that would leave a paper trail. Texts, emails, phone calls. Mueller's had two years. If this happened he would have nailed Trump by now. He's got he NSA working for him. Debunked.
Again, Trump refuses real estate deals. According to Steele. But we actually know for a fact Michael Cohen was emailing public Kremlin websites begging for help with the Moscow tower deal. Debunked.
So, Trump is a five year long Manchurian Candidate project. No mention of how Trump actually became a political player: Birtherism followed by "Build A Wall". Without those Trump goes nowhere politically. Did Russia come up with those, or did they just luck out. Laughable.
Most of the allegations that concern Americans actually come from Source E. Given how few Ethnic Russians could be called close associates of Trump, it is almost certainly Felix Sater or Sergei Millian. Both are FBI informants. Millian worked with Fusion GPS
Many point to the Republican Platform "change" as Trump going soft on Ukraine. The language adopted was still tougher than the Dems. If it weren't for one lady from Dallas, there would have been no kerfuffle. She wanted lethal aid, like 60s South Vietnam. Extreme.
Why would Putin want to "raise the issue" of EU NATO countries not spending enough on Defense? He wants his prey to be more well armed? Debunked.
Source E claims not only Russian Gov Hackers, but DNC moles and US Hackers. Mueller's Hacking indictment mentions no DNC moles or US Hackers. DNC moles sounds like Seth Rich stuff. Debunked.
Carter Page holds secret meetings with the two Ivans, Sechin and Divyekin. Proponents of the Dossier say the fact that Page went to Moscow is a checkmark for Steele. Page's trip was publicly announced and he gave a televised speech. Not a "proven".
As to the meetings. Page was under a FISA for 12 months. They allow for review of every communication going forward and backwards. And, no, deleting things doesn't matter, the NSA collects everything. Debunked.
The NY Times, WaPo, and NBC all had the Dossier but refused to run it because they couldn't verify these meetings. That was not a problem for Buzzfeed, or for the FBI, apparently. The basic Woods procedure would be to verify that these meetings AT LEAST TOOK PLACE before FISA.
Page would get the brokerage fee of a 19% stake selloff of Rosneft. 19.5% of Rosneft was indeed sold in December. Proponents point to this as another "proven". They say it wasn't public at the time this memo was written. But these memo dates cannot be verified.
By the time Kramer's highlighted copy was photographed by Buzzfeed, this info was public. Additionally it's been reported that the possibility of this sale was well known in energy circles. I can't verify that though.
Regardless, any brokerage was not carried out by Carter Page. This is a very complicated business transaction that would require a firm of lawyers. The buyer was Clinton crony Marc Rich's Glencore and Qatar. No sanctions have been lifted. Debunked.
By the way, the Kompromat on Clinton wasn't her emails. It was wiretaps during her Russia trips.
Cohen in Prague. Sounds like a Mel Brooks musical. Cohen is now working for Mueller. He's cooperated openly and honestly, according to Mueller. Yet, through his attorney Lanny Davis, still denies he was ever in Prague.
Cohen testified to Congress he'd never been to Prague. Mueller charged Cohen with lying to Congress. But not about that. Between process of elimination, Lanny Davis, and common sense, let's conclude that this is Debunked.
More from Source E. Trump was spying on Russian Oligarchs in New York for the Kremlin. How? Does Trump have a Private Detective Agency? Again, this would leave a massive paper trail, and is silly in its face. Debunked.
Let's close out with the musings of Source E (Millian or Sater) Notice this is just his ramblings. No Specifics. In August of 2016 very few in media we're even taking the Clinton talking point of TrumpRussia seriously. Trump certainly didn't seem concerned, joking about it.
Like I said, there's very few actual concrete allegations in the Dossier. This is the last one we'll look at. The redacted portions are Gubarev of XBT. He sued Buzzfeed. These allegations are directly contradicted by the Mueller GRU indictment. Debunked.
Much of the Dossier actually deals with supposed intrigue INSIDE the Kremlin. How would a British Spy, working through multiple intermediaries get actual evidence of Kremlin top secret discussions? Laughable.
Now let's look at how the Dossier was used. In addition to feeding the Dossier to the FBI, Fusion GPS would feed it to reporters, with the juicy carrot that it was "being taken serious by the FBI". Then the FBI would actually cite those stories to a FISA judge.
John Brennan claimed to have never seen the Dossier. But he clearly breifed Harry Reid on the Page allegations in it, because Reid cites them in a letter to Comey demanding an investigation a day after the Brennan briefing.
In addition, it appears Brennan sent the Dossier to Obama in a secret envelope. washingtonpost.com/graphics/2017/…
How the Dossier finally became public is an interesting tale in itself. (this is the end of this thread, I promise)

Comey briefs Trump on only the "salacious" charges. Not the important stuff. Doesn't tell him that was used to get a FISA.
Tells him he should know this because the media is waiting to publish it, they just need a "news hook".

Days later CNN reports that Comey briefed Trump on the Dossier. Buzzfeed uses this fact as a newsworthy reason to Publish.

Comey essentially published it. /END
