CNN will do its share of panels today debating the most recent statements of junior members of Congress, but it is at least also giving welcome coverage to an alarming report on crashing insect populations published in Biological Conservation. @emckirdy
So is @guardian via @dpcarrington. It’s obvious, if you think about it, why crashing insect populations are such a problem. Lots of other animals eat them: birds, reptiles, mammals. theguardian.com/environment/20…
Abstract of the Francisco Sanchez-Bayo-led study on declining insect populations via @faisal_moola . What is causing this change? Deforestation, habitat loss first, then intensive pesticide use, mainly in agriculture.
