Howard Schultz is not a legitimate candidate for president. He’s not a serious candidate for president. He got a prime time, high-profile spot on a major network because he’s a spectacle, something to hate watch. That’s exactly how Donald Trump gained momentum.
Politics as entertainment is a pox on this country. It perverts a serious process, attracts unsavory and dangerous people, and makes everyone’s lives worse except those who profit off of it.
We can reject this glitzy garbage, move away from commercialized spectacles thatre slickly produces to look like sporting events and have a politics that serves to make people’s lives better and the world more humane. But we can’t do that with America: The TV Show.

Fox News has absolutely served to escalate debate for profit, but I think what FNC and its people never counted on was that there would be a president who believed them completely and then formed a total feedback loop that escalated the propaganda daily.
Time and time again people talk about Trump's manipulations, but the honest to god truth is that Trump believes what he sees on Fox. He doesn't possess the ability to discern propaganda from truth, at all. Because of this, he literally reflects Fox News back to the TV.
Fox News, in keeping up with Trump, has had to turn the temperature up in order to capitalize off his base, which they helped create. As a result, every single day the situation gets worse, the fever grows hotter. They're completely bound to Trump and Trump to them.

In order to fix this country we're going to have to trim defense spending. We have to stop talking about it in terms of limiting defense though. The money we spend is for contractors. The military goes on the record all the time saying they don't need everything being bought. 1/
We're not paying to make people safer, which is what always happens when we talk budget. Military spending is a huge redistribution of wealth that makes contractors and corporations richer. It doesn't necessarily lead to safety. 2/
These people hide behind national security, but there are plenty of projects that are producing military weapons and projects that nobody wants but the people producing them. 3/

It appears that a printed, full version of the Mueller Report will be available in book form March 26th, meaning we will be getting the Russian Collusion investigation results within the next three weeks.
This is an actual PR email to a bookseller. It appears to be legit. I've heard from multiple people now they were approached by people they believed to be publishing representatives about a Mueller Report being printed March 26th.
There's a lot of confusion right now, but this is consistent with what the beginnings of a pressed rollout would look like. The people printing these have announced them.

The latest polling on his candidacy show that Democrats' worries about him are - so far - just not based in reality. As I predicted, after seeing how different people across the spectrum were reacting to what he's said so far, he'll earning more support from the GOP.
Relatively the same can be gleaned from these results - favorability ratings vs outright support. More Republicans than even independents so far.

This is an opportune moment for TV execs to show some spine. Trump is gonna keep calling them all partisan and 'fake news' no matter what they do on this! So they should reject his request unless he agrees, verifiably, to not lie
Moreover, if the TV networks let Trump interrupt prime time to tell the American public that there is a 'national emergency' on the US-Mexico border, then the TV networks will be complicit in hyping a phony national emergency

Some right wingers are now tweeting that Mark Judge was “right” when he wrote for Chuck C. Johnson’s blog, attacking the woman in Rolling Stone’s now-retracted UVA gang rape article.
Technically, he may have been “right” this time, because parts of the RS article did indeed end up being discredited, but calling this “right” misunderstands what people like Chuck Johnson and Mark Judge do.
Their modus operandi is to attack and smear and try to discredit EVERY rape victim that gets into the news. Johnson in particular has obsessed with this for years, especially college campus rape stories.
