BREAKER BREAKER WE GOT A CONVOY THREAD!

This is disheartening to me. When I see top-level politicians throwing their weight behind this #unitedweroll convoy, I get very frustrated. These people have a staff, and that staff should do homework on this movement.
/ The #UnitedWeRoll started when a bunch of yellow vests co-opted the pipelines and energy cause and hard work done by @rally4resources and @CanadaAction who have organized years of effective action to advocate for Canadian resources and the common sense development of them.
/ After a number of respectful, well organized and well attended events (including convoys), a pair of people started the go fund me campaigns that eventually grew into #UnitedWeRoll. They capitalized on confusion and boiling frustration and raised a bunch of money before
/ @CanadaAction and @rally4resources could launch their convoy. And their message was confused. Everything from UN migration to globalist agendas to any other tinfoil hat covered cause you can think of. @rally4resources and @CanadaAction tried to organize a professional and
/ focused convoy. Explicitly focusing on energy issues. Shunning the whackjobs, racists and uglier elements. But by that point it was too late. #UnitedWeRoll floundered along. They "distanced" themselves from the yellow vests, though they are still a core of the convoy.
/ @rally4resources @CanadaAction stopped organizing. The other groups had poisoned the cause. One large yellow vest go fund me basically shut down (I have no idea if people got their money back). Ask @ruffnecknation about that gem of a story.
/ So then the convoy headed out. And you know what, they've somehow managed to avoid the uglier shows that yellow vests have sometimes had. They've stayed (somewhat) on point. But at its core, this convoy is a yellow vest convoy. And it has racism and threats and
/ who knows what else just below the surface. And for that reason, they will never have my support. I wish them the best of luck, and hope they can stay on point re: energy, but I have my doubts They are not representing me.
/ So I get very frustrated when I see @AndrewScheer @fordnation and @jkenney come out wishing these guys well and tying them to the energy cause. I think they will regret that. I expect some of the uglier sides #UnitedWeRoll will come out in ottawa.
/ and now you have tied them to me. I am someone that cares deeply about our energy sector. About our world-class standards for development, consultation and environmental protection. The world uses a lot of oil and gas still. And we produce it better than anyone else.
/ and having all of this wingnuttery attached to this cause (one that is a question of food on the table for many in the resource sector) is doing a great disservice to all of us. I am immensly disappointed in all of those leaders.
/ Yellow vesters and #UnitedWeRoll ers do not and will not speak for me, but I do support our world leading resource industry. And I don't think I'm in the minority with that position.
/ So good luck #unitedweroll . Remember the whole country will be watching. We didn't want it, but our leaders have attached your movement to mine. So try to keep that in mind and don't screw it up for us. Thanks.
