Primaries were established to let the will of the people pick presidential nominees. They don't have to be demolition derbies. Corporate media has turned this into a passion play with ups and downs and dysfunctional fighting. We don't have to eviscerate ourselves.
Politics is supposed to be how we move forward and coalesce to make things better. Everything else is pageantry and the stuff of marketing. We can make a choice. We can turn our backs on all this dysfunction and strife.
This addiction to dysfunction and the selling of discord is part of how we got to this terrible place in our politics. We don't have to participate in it and we don't have to promote it. If we keep treating this like it's normal or healthy it's only going to get worse.
