Again, it’s so much easier to understand the Trump Collusion scandal when viewing it through a corporate lens. You break laws to gain an advantage and there’s absolutely no loyalty to country or duty, just pursuit of wealth and power.
For Trump and company, Russian interference represented an advantage, an international merger of likeminded ideals and goals.
Maybe they suspected they were committing treasonous acts, but corporations and business have transcended nations and concepts of duty. A nation is a means to an end, a body of money and resources to use up.
Trump probably views Putin as the ultimate businessman who took over a major nation, brutalized it, and exploited it for his own greed. That’s what Trump wants, he’s said as much. He probably viewed the help as an apprenticeship of sorts, a helping hand toward his goal.
It’s a vile, criminal thing, but it’s a vile, criminal thing spawned by the erosion of duty and loyalty in the business and political sectors. It’s an indoctrination of years and years of economic and political rot.
Trump never respected the laws of the country before. Not in housing, not in financial laws. He never respected duty. Not in Vietnam or in paying his taxes, thus depriving fellow citizens. There’s no concept there, nothing that would keep him from accepting foreign help.
