1/ Which jobs in web / B2B / SaaS will be the first to be automated?

Evidence has started trickling in. In this thread, I simply observe and link to it.

I can't say when those jobs will go away or if at all, looking at the evidence you decide for yourself.
2/ UI coder (those who take the photoshop / sketch design and make HTML/CSS out of it).

3/ Copywriters and content writers. (Also journalists)

Look at the latest language model from @OpenAI GPT2. If it can generate coherent articles about unicorns, I think it can produce coherent articles about ERP and other SaaS products too. blog.openai.com/better-languag…
4/ Sales development reps (those who call and qualify prospects, not the closers).

Google's automated calling demo is a harbinger for a potential B2B use of qualifying sales prospects automatically:
5/ And interestingly, data science is at risk too

Initiatives like AutoML promise to find for the right architectures and hyperparameters. Data scientists will not go away completely, but a lot of what is done by them now will be automated. automl.org
6/ And, of course, traditional business intelligence professionals.

8/ I'm sure I've missed many more examples. Please reply if you have another example for a role in B2B / SaaS / web-dev that could get automated.
9/ My advice to folks whose job is at risk: upskill. Perhaps learn ML / coding or at least basics of it.

With your domain expertise, if you know how to use the new tools and algorithms, you'll be a killer.

2/ First thing you should introspect is *why* you read. Do you read because of FOMO? While reading, do you worry about forgetting?

For me, the point of reading books is to not remember the facts but to form useful mental models that I can deploy in my future thinking.
3/ Clarity on your reason for reading will help you guide on how to get most out of the time you invest in reading.

On the Manafort front, we know he lied to prosecutors about conversations he had w a Russian asset (and Manafort's business partner !!) named Konstantin Kilimnik.
In August 2016, Manafort & Kilimnik met at a bar in a building owned by the Kushners. They exited through separate doors. Manafort gave Kilimnik targeted polling data. We also know that Russian hackers targeted areas they would have had no way of knowing to target w/o such info

1/n I got into a little feud with @kate_manne the last few days. There has been some praise of what I've said, but there has been a fair bit of criticism of me from her side. Totally fair, to be expected. I just want to respond to this—once. After this I won't bother her anymore.
2/n Critics say that I totally misrepresented her HIMpathy term. She was ONLY claiming that it was certain privileged boys, College superstars and-the-like, say Brock Turner, who got this privilege.

First, why does she call it a gendered term, HIMpathy?
3/n Does she have evidence that these privileged boys get exhonerated because of their gender? It seems totally plausible to me that a privileged woman would get EVEN more sympathy. Can't prove that this is true, but she provides no evidence of gender being the important factor.

I show that Fidesz and Smer did not ‘just’ adopt restrictive asylum positions but justified them with nativist narratives of defense/threat to ‘Nation’ from constructed 'Others' and ideas. RR originals, even in HU, were however able to react by ‘repackaging’ their nativist supply

First, my stream art. My art usually starts somehow based on a @streamlabs theme, even if only for inspiration or to make my custom CSS/JS a lot easier to wrangle. The text is usually done w/ custom browser sources. For more info on Streamlabs OBS visit streamlabs.com/slobs/d/103698…
For custom fonts, I override whatever font selection is made via custom CSS. I embed my fonts as base 64 in the CSS thanks to @FontSquirrel's webfont generator. Base 64 seems to perform the best for locally-hosted HTML files with inline CSS even. Probably because no caching.
