Useful and authoritative on the desperate efforts by @TiceRichard to pretend there is a magical bit of WTO to save us from the folly he's promoted.
I would add one thing. Art 24 requires an agreement. The UK is incapable of sorting an agreement quickly because - all together now - it does not know what it wants. So no matter how fast the WTO is, this would not be a rapid procedure.
But anyway, as unlikely and cartoonish as @TiceRichard's story is: if he wants to tell us who these 'WTO bosses' he's been meeting are, I'm sure we're all ears.

A lot of the confusion over Labour referendum move stems from still instinctively seeing them as a coherent, unified political organisation.
They stopped being that a while back, and degraded into a collection of warring fiefdoms. Even within People's Vote types there were differences.
So yes of course Jeremy Corbyn is still a eurosceptic and will do whatever he can to stop a People's Vote taking place. And yes Milne and McCluskey will still fight rearguard defence against the policy.

You can make yourself look principled and honourable. You can make Brussels look bad. It does nothing to undermine your position. It is the moral thing to do. It can command support across the Commons.
I mean seriously, in the name of god's nutsack, what's not to like?

I take no position on US involvement, but this is idiotic. "Let the people determine their future" - well they bloody can't, they are ruled by a dictatorship. That's what makes it a dictatorship - that the people can't choose their future. If they could, it would be a democracy.
Look, I understand those who are skeptical about US involvement, given its terrible foreign policy track record. But I wish they at least *tried* to pretend to care about the Venezuelans who have suffered (and continue to suffer) under Maduro's dictatorship.
Like, it's one thing to say: "We wholeheartedly support your struggle for freedom, and we won't let our government stand in its way". Instead we get basically "we don't care, you're not any of our business" said in 1000 different ways.

I think all of us on the left can agree Dems could be better fighters.

However, something that some of us seem to be. . . . rather ignorant of. . . . .is, um, DEMOCRACY.
Obama was an institutionalist. He the preservation & respect of our democratic system as a fundamental responsibility.

As such, he knew that any tweaks he made set precedent for others to take the same kind of action.

He attacked me for it - repeatedly. I was letting the company down by not doing Lies with him, because Lies was "better" with me in it. Was that a compliment? I tried to tell him that I needed time and space, and to tell him that these demands were hurting me. He flipped it.

If I might seek to provide some light relief from #GE17 snow clouds,

I FOI’d the Ministerial Agreement On Data Processing underpinning the #PSC and.. um, it was never signed by or on behalf of the Ministers.

And it also may have lapsed in Feb 2016.

This is quite significant. Irish Water relied on their Schedule 5 status to collect PPS Numbers. (the same basis @welfare_ie used to justify DPER Processing data on their behalf.)

Then they had to destroy all those records when they couldn’t produce a Ministerial Agreement.
The 2014 Agreement starts off as an Agreement between Ministers (as you might expect).
