1/8: Thread about #privacy.

Say you're at a public event and there's a photo booth where you can have your picture taken and printed + sent to you by e-mail. You don't get more info than that.

Do you (or should you) expect your pictures to be publicly available on the Internet?
2/8: I was at this O'Learys bar with a @PepsiMAX sponsored event where you could see the original @ChampionsLeague trophy. @fotobaren had a photo booth where you could get a free print photo in front of the trophy.
Someone™ failed to inform that anyone could find the pix online.
3/8: When I was asked if I wanted the pic by e-mail I thought "I wonder if they got their #security in order". To keep it short; very easily I could see all 886 pics taken for the event in both Oslo and Bergen.

Do anyone in the pics know this? How long will they stay online?
4/9: Don't get me wrong: This is actually not a security issue, this is a product feature. But who is to blame about this #privacyfail? Did @PepsiMAX order the wrong product from @fotobaren? Did the staff taking the pics just forget to inform us?
5/9: @fotobaren seems to be buying some services from PicPic Social which therefore hosts the pics of some of their products. Reading PicPic's terms and conditions they are in the clear. But still.. doing a "site:" search where my picture was hosted is interesting...
6/9: There are thousands upon thousands of pictures from everything from public events to private events like weddings and parties. Whoever ordered the products probably didn't care too much about reading the terms.
7/9: My *guess* from a quick peek of a few events involving alcohol is that the people in front of the camera might not have known the pics would be indexed by Google..
8/9: fotobaren.no lists quite a few customers. Again, with some quick googling you'll find old public events by the likes of @dnb_hjelp and @vgnett. I hope they remembered to tell people the pictures would be on the Internet for years to come. 🍻
9/9: No security issues were found in the making of this thread. The involved companies may very well be operating within their terms and conditions. However, someone™ is failing to inform us ending up in front of the camera.
