I'm a proud Right winger. I have very little in common w/liberals. I'm curious, how many of you right wingers have liberal views on something? One view I hold that may be considered liberal is that I believe we should help the poor, but through private charities not Government.
Let me clarify my position, people generally associate helping the poor with being liberal and conservatives oppose helping them. That is a blatant lie. However that is the perception. Conservatives just don't want Government doing it but leaving it to the private sector.
My desire to help the poor comes from my Christian world view. I was taught to give generously to the less fortunate, which I've done my entire life. What I oppose is Government making poor people Government dependent .
I really love the replies on this thread. It's funny how open minded conservatives are and yet they keep being painted as closed minded. We just don't fall for the leftist indoctrination and we can see issues and find solutions in a practical way not by creating State Control.
