Nigerians are the problems of Nigeria. An average Nigerian is docile, timid, uninformed, clueless. They love the U.S, UK and Europe. They can vote to have a clueless and incompetent fellow as President and then pay anything to escape to the most obscure country thereafter
Thread:
In 2015, Nigeria's economy was ranked one of the fastest growing economy around the world. Then Buhari took over. The economy crashed, country went into recession, $1=N360, over 20million lost jobs, Boko Haram killings, kidnapping increased, despite his many colorful promises!
The pain and anguish people started going through gave rise to the grouse against the Buhari's Govt. Buhari himself, a sick and frail man, had no answer to the crumbling economy. He was unaware and so had no clue of what to do. Nigerians groaned in pain while the Cabal fed fat!
The attack against Buhari's govt is not a hate for the person of Buhari, his tribe or religion. It is a hate for his incompetence, his clueless and nepotistic disposition. Buhari has no answer to the problems of modern day Nigeria and he has refused to accept the reality.
Prior to the Presidential elections, the message was clear. Buhari failed not just the South but the North where Boko Haram has continued to bomb freely, poverty ravaging the people, IDP Camps springing up everyday, unemployment on the rise and Nigerians increasingly divided.
Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate of PDP brought a message of hope, a message of reassurance. He may not be the best or a saint but indeed, he understands how to fix the economy, grow jobs, fight insecurity and unite Nigerians. he has been around and knows what to do.
In the last 30yrs, Atiku built political families that cuts across all ethnic and religious groups. He has built followership around him. His political ideology has been embraced by all. He is a Muslim with a liberal mindset, a politician with an open mind
He is an astute businessman who rose from being a herdsman in Jadda, old Gongola State, now Adamawa state, to building businesses across Nigeria, employing people regardless of where they come from. He is married to both Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo women to ice his cake of open mind!
Atiku's campaign message resonated well with both the rich, the poor, the old, young and even the cynics. He was indeed well received and his chances at the polls very bright despite all the attacks he suffered in the hands of the APC, a party he left to return to the PDP.
The Atiku momentum became the greatest fear of the APC/Buhari and they went to work, fashioning out how best to rig the elections not minding how Nigerians would feel and not even minding if that eats up the integrity personality they had labored in years to cloth Buhari
On February 23, the rigging was carried out using the military, police, thugs and even some naive hungry Nigerians. It was a robbery of our collective conscience. Once again, Nigerians allowed themselves to be shackled down another four years of pain and of incompetence.
Just as President Atiku Abubakar, the clear winner of the February 23, 2019 elections has said, this is going to be a long fight. I am prepared for how long it takes to reclaim the stolen mandate. I will continue to show to the world the fraud called Buhari.
I strongly believe the Presidential election was a fraud and only fraudulent minds and hypocrites think otherwise. If we actually want Nigeria to work, we need to always call a spade as spade even when it is not going our way.
Buhari cannot claim to be Mr. Integrity and steal votes, surround himself with thieves. He cannot claim to be fighting corruption and yet narrow the fight to only perceived enemies and opposition politicians. Yet some sing his praises. We need to remove our veil of hypocrisy!
I have been risking my life trying to be on the side of justice. I have exposed myself to dangers. I have received several threat calls, some daring me to come to Nigeria. In all, if I die fighting for justice, equity, freedom for Nigerians, it would be worth it. I am old enough!
Off course I could have remained aloof, sit on the fence and not give a damn, after all, I live in the U.S where I have all I want. But then, I think about friends and families. It is better for me to remain the voice of he voiceless, than maintain a silence and the people perish
