Corruption is just everywhere. Those who should be arresting and prosecuting corrupt persons must be seen to be clean at least. How do we explain the pervasive corruption in EFCC and the DSS where officials steal with impunity and pretend to be fighting corruption?
A Thread:
Recently, I exposed the rots in DSS where Lawan Daura, the former DG had caused to be approved, the sum of N10billion for the operations of the DSS for the 2019 elections. In that same expose, I stated that N5billion was collected from the DSS account by the Buhari Cabal
Out of the remaining N5billion left for the DSS election operations, the funds were supposed to be shared to states where assigned DSS officers monitoring elections are to get at least N200k depending on their ranks. But that did not happen. Someone, some persons decided to steal
While a level 10 officer in the DSS, an equivalent of a DSP/Captain got about N40k, an Inspector of Police, got N85k for same election logistics and operations. To expose the rots, the funds were supposed to be wired directly to accounts of DSS officials for the elections
Instead, DSS state Directors lobbied and had the funds sent to state command accounts so they can have access. As soon as the funds landed in the State accounts, State Directors, took a chunk and shared left overs to already disgruntled DSS officers. Some got N40k, some less
The morale in the DSS is very low and that alone is dangerous and counter productive for a free, fair and credible elections. Officers are now exposed to the temptation of collecting bribes from politicians because they have been shortchanged by the "Ogas at the top."
While I applaud the EFCC for arresting the Kunle Kadiri, the DSS Deputy Finance Director linked with Daura, the EFCC itself is a corrupt entity. The EFCC looked the other way when they caught Nuhu Ribadu escorting the plane with the huge cash that was recently seen at the airport
I am simply not doing this because I am an unrepentant, unapologetic supporter of Atiku Abubakar but because while we have to get Nigeria working again, we have in the last 4yrs been fed with lies in the name of fighting corruption. We must get Nigeria back to sanity.
When we cleanse the DSS, EFCC, Police, Military and others of corruption, only then can Nigeria fight corruption. While risking my life doing all the expose, I believe at the way Nigeria is now, fixing it requires a whole lot of risk and it is worth it anyway!
