the meme of “conspiracy theories” is going to flip on them just like “fake news”, its just taking longer. remember they started the fake news thing. well now by making a folder called “conspiracy theories” lots of people have a convenient packaged folder of things to poke into.
imo the programming is splitting on this one. u have terminal normies who think every “conspiracy theory” is just insane, but u also have a subset of people who kind of assume they have some truth even without looking into them, as well as those who intentionally open the folder
frankly at the risk of sounding like a pretentious loser i kind of think of the “conspiracy theory” thing as a folk weirdo internet e-tantra. by going through the steps of looking into 9/11, then fake history, then etc., youre slowly opened to questioning anything, which is good
